Hi all,
Just a quick one. We only have 15 days left now until the next DRL and things are beginning to heat up. We've just had Roystontech who host our forums come to the party and donate some prizes. We also now have some of the comps listed on our site.

We are still in the process of finalizing additional comps and prizes so keep a close eye out for more details in the very near future. We will also have an original NES and a Nintendo Wii at the venue to play in the player lounge.

Dreaming Reality LAN 18 - 13/12/06(View Thread)

Ok ppl,
We are finally going to hold another DRL after all this time. The event will be held at The Odeon at Latrobe University where the last few have been run.

At the request of Phantasm, this time around we're going to make it an over 18 event..... does he have something special in mind that will require it to be over 18? or does he just hate everyone under the age of 18? No one knows, you will have to register for the event and come along to find out.

We are currently still in the early stages of planning so more will be reveled as time goes on but anyone that has been to a DRL in the past will know what to expect. FUN COMPS AND PINAPPLE JUICE.

To anyone that went to the Game1 event but hasn't been to a DRL before, expect a great LAN with no restrictions on when you can and can't leave the venue.... PLUS, you can also sleep anywhere you like. YES, YOU HEARD ME RIGHT - Eat, Sleep and Wander in and out anytime you like (as long as you have a player tag of course) during the event. We will also be doing a Pizza run and selling drinks at the event as per usual.

....Will we hold another PC throwing competition?
....Will Chode bring another box or Hungry Jacks syrup along for a chugging contest?
....Will Mac the big inflatable Dolphin find a job?
....Will Dan (Phantasm's Dog) eat someone's mouse?

Register now and secure your place.

Game1 LAN Wrapup - 12/11/06

Well, we reached the end of a great LAN. We had a good turnout and everything ran fairly smoothly. A big thanks goes out to all the players who participated in the event and help make it what it was.
All the comps ran well and we had most of the finals running on the 2 Plasma screens provided by Sansung. The comp highlight for me would have been the final Quake3 match between and Xio and Treewombat, and the Battlepainter competition. Battlepainter has to have been the first competition I've seen ran on the roof. For more post event discussion and pictures from the Battlepainter comp, head over to the forums as we have a post event thread there.

I've also like to thank all the sponsors that made this event possible in the first place. So a big thanks goes out to Altech, Samsung, Thermaltake, KMC PC Paint, Ping, CPL and last but not least Autosalon for allowing us to the first LAN ever at Jeff's Shed.

We also have Photo's up here. Due to the horny nature of our photographers, you'll find that there's a lot of none lan, autosalon model related pictures in there but hell, thats not a bad thing ;)

Anyway, from the Game1 Team, we hope to see you all again next year and we'll keep you guys posted on any smaller events we run in the meantime.

A big thanks also has to be made to Treewombat and doctorstu for helping me make the competition run as smoothly as possible eventhough we had a bit of rough start.

I would also like to thank Altech for providing the PC's in final Quake3 match and Samsung for providing the 40" Plasma screens.

The CS 1.6 Tournament will be the most high profile tournament on the 8 game event competition card and will attract a $15 per player registration fee (all other tournaments remain free to enter).

You also need to register here for the Game1 PC Event itself, which entry fee is $22 or if your smart, head to ZAM/iBisQ/VA/Geto LAN Cafe's and pick up a flyer which gives you $15 entry.
